The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time

Developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time first released in Japan in 1998, bringing the series into 3D on Nintendo 64. Its Z-targeting system gave players a practical way to handle sword fights in three dimensions, while context-sensitive controls made climbing, talking and interacting with Hyrule feel remarkably natural. Those ideas helped establish a vocabulary for 3D action-adventure games that developers still draw on.The clever part is how much character sits beneath that technical achievement. Link’s childhood and adulthood reveal different sides of the same world, and dungeons build elaborate puzzles around equipment you gradually learn to master. Koji Kondo’s score makes the ocarina more than a story prop: melodies become tools for solving puzzles, traveling and changing your surroundings. This JP Nintendo 64 release has Japanese-language text, an important distinction for a game with plenty of dialogue and written clues.This Japanese copy is complete in box and in good condition, and it’s an uncommon find in our shop. It was inspected, cleaned and tested by hand at Broad Street Exchange in Woodbury, NJ.
