Pokemon Yellow

Developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo, Pokemon Yellow first arrived in Japan in 1998, followed by its US release in 1999 for Game Boy. It reworked Pokemon Red and Blue around the animated series’ most recognizable partnership: a young Trainer and a Pikachu who would rather walk beside you than stay in a Poké Ball. That small change gave the familiar adventure through Kanto a different personality, with Pikachu’s expressions offering a running commentary on your friendship.The anime influence went beyond the mascot. Jessie and James appeared as recurring Team Rocket opponents, and players could obtain Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle within a single playthrough rather than choosing just one at the start. Underneath those changes, Pokemon Yellow kept the turn-based battles, exploration, and link-cable trading that made the original games so absorbing. It remains a distinctive version of the first-generation formula: familiar routes and gym battles, but with a more expressive companion along for the ride.This US copy is loose and in mint condition, an uncommon find in our shop. It was inspected, cleaned and tested by hand at Broad Street Exchange in Woodbury, NJ.
