Nintendo 64

Nintendo developed and released the Nintendo 64 in Japan in 1996, bringing analog control and fully 3D worlds to the center of its console lineup. Super Mario 64 arrived alongside the Japanese launch and helped establish how movement, exploration, and camera control could work in three dimensions. The console’s unusual three-pronged controller put an analog stick under your thumb, while four built-in controller ports made local multiplayer a defining part of its identity. The Nintendo 64 kept cartridges while competing systems embraced CDs, trading storage capacity for fast access and avoiding disc-loading pauses. Its library became home to influential games including The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and a particularly strong lineup of couch multiplayer favorites. This is a Japanese-region Nintendo 64; Japanese and North American cartridges have different shell keying, so they are not directly interchangeable in an unmodified cartridge slot. This Japanese Nintendo 64 is complete in box and in mint condition. It was inspected, cleaned and tested by hand at Broad Street Exchange in Woodbury, NJ.
