About this piece
Madden NFL 2006 for PlayStation 2, officially released as Madden NFL 06, was developed by EA Tiburon and published by EA Sports in North America in 2005. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb landed the cover, giving this edition a particularly local connection for South Jersey football fans. It also arrived as EA’s exclusive NFL licensing agreement reshaped football gaming, following the competition between Madden and ESPN NFL 2K5 the previous year. The defining addition was QB Vision, a visible cone representing where your quarterback was looking. Higher-rated passers had wider fields of vision, while others demanded more deliberate targeting—a divisive attempt to make reading the defense matter as much as finding the right button. Precision Passing added control over ball placement, and the new NFL Superstar mode shifted attention from managing an entire team to building an individual player’s career. Together, those changes made this a notably experimental entry within Madden’s established PlayStation 2 formula. This US copy is complete in box and in fair condition. It has been inspected, cleaned and tested by hand at Broad Street Exchange in Woodbury, NJ.
