Cuphead

Cuphead was developed and originally published by Studio MDHR, launching worldwide in 2017 for Xbox One and Windows before reaching Nintendo Switch in 2019. Its 1930s cartoon style wasn’t just a clever filter: hand-drawn animation, watercolor backgrounds, and a jazz-heavy soundtrack gave its rubber-limbed characters a remarkably convincing period look and sound. Underneath all that charm sits a demanding action game built around learning patterns, keeping your nerve, and making every opening count.Boss fights are the main attraction, with elaborate transformations turning each encounter into a little animated production. Run-and-gun stages break up the battles, while the parry system rewards players willing to move toward danger rather than simply dodge it. Two players can tackle the action locally as Cuphead and Mugman, though having company doesn’t make those attack patterns disappear. This is the Japanese-market Nintendo Switch release; standard Nintendo Switch consoles can play game cards from other regions. This copy includes the box and game and is a rare find in our shop. It was inspected, cleaned and tested by hand at Broad Street Exchange in Woodbury, NJ.
